Peter Keane
Folk/Blues

Currently living in Austin TX, Peter Keane (pronounced kane) was a mainstay on the Boston folk music scene for a decade beginning in the mid 1980's. Critically acclaimed as a songwriter, singer, and guitarist, The Boston Globe discribes his music as a "sublime mix of acoustic blues and country folk." The early `90's brought national recognition with the release of the Bill Morrissey-produced CD The Goodnight Blues on the Northeastern Records label, a national tour opening for the Bill Morrissey band, and the headlining appearances at the 1993 Newport Folk Festival and the 1995 Kerrville Folk Festival.

Peter Keane's music is full of influences - from American folk heroes like Hank Williams, Mississippi John Hurt, and Ramblin' Jack Elliott. Mining these classic veins of country blues, he has become a songwriter to watch, penning gems like Skip's Blues and Jimmy Yancey. His down-to-earth live show, full of wit and charm, has made him a favorite of audiences up and down the East Coast.
