Trumpeter Roney has performed with the best, among them Elvin Jones, Tony Williams, Art Blakey, Dizzy Galepsie and Miles Davis, who picked Roney to assist during his celebrated Montreux reunion concert in 1991, just months before Davis' death. The Chicago Tribune called him "a potentially major artist coming into his own." He returns to the R with tenor saxist (and brother) Antoine Roney and pianist Geri Allen, all of whom can be heard on the group's new self-titled CD on Warner Bros.
