The Smokin' Joe Kubek Band is one of the best bew bands keeping the Texas blues tradition. Smokin' Joe's guitar style has been described as "painted, of the tavern variety with healty tinges of rock 'n' roll," influenced obviously by the Kings, B.B., Freddie and Albert, John Lee Hooker and Gatemouth. Vocalist B'nois King is "a bluesman's bluesman.
