Restaurants Fun Places Movies Bands Lyrics

Charging the California punk rock scene with flammable and stimulating themes, Thrice also displays the creative wish to go beyond the restraining punk-pop formula. Delivering hardcore-inspired tunes supported by sharp lyrics, the band ultimately seems to be able to surpass the limits of one style. Dustin Kensrue (guitar, vocals), Teppei Teranishi (guitar), Edward Breckenridge (bass), and Riley Breckenridge (drums) secured the lineup of the California band, whose origins go back to 1998 when Kensrue and Teranishi first met. Following several months of rehearsals, the unit sharpened their sounds and decided on recording their first EP. First Impressions arrived later that year receiving considerable acclaim. During the year that followed, Thrice kept on gathering a major fan base, and by the end of 1999, settled on entering the studio again, this time to prepare their debut album. After securing the production expertise of Paul Miner, the band finally recorded Identity Crisis, their debut full-length, which hit the record stores in 2001. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges, All Music Guide
