Mary Gauthier (say Go-shay) is on a musical mission. Born and raised in New Orleans, Mary runs the award winning Dixie Kitchen in Boston's Back Bay, where Mary encourages patrons to " . . . put a little South in your mouth."
She has now launched her careeer as a singer-songwriter. She plays folkabilly-folk music infused with Southern heritage. Her writing has been compared to the work of Steve Earl and John Prine.Her songs are powerful evocations of love, loss, bad luck and good times.
