Classically trained marimba soloist Ken Wolin performs a wide repertoire with music ranging from the Renaissance and Baroque periods to the Romantic era or lute, violin, 'cello and piano, which he has transcribed for his seven-foot long Concert Grand Marimba, as well as contemporary works specifically composed for the marimba.
As a soloist, Wolin has performed in the King's Chapel Recital Series, the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston Concert Series, at Border's Books & Music and other places. He has also performed as percussionist with the Sarasota Opera in Florida, the Detroit and Toledo Symphony Orchestras and at the Spoleto Festival in Italy. Currently, Wolin is percussionist with the Rhode Island Philharmonic and performs regularly at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
