Dan Bern
Folk

An up-and-coming renegade folkie. The Sony/WORK artist spends the majority of his days on the interstates and most of his nights in clubs or at festivals across North America. Last year he traveled 60,000 miles on the road, earning coast-to-coast acclaim.

In LA..."The most talented singer-songwriter to come along in the last ten years"

In Boston... "Thirty-five years ago they whispered the name `Bob Dylan.' Last night they whispered the name 'Dan Bern.'"

Categorizing his eclectic material is difficult. One New York writer who was confident enough to try came up with "Topical-political-poetical-sarcastic-punk-folk."

The Album Network states, "He can be brutally honest, deceptively adroit, wonderfully seductive, unpredictably funny or disarmingly intelligent. And everywhere he's gone, he's left audiences stunned and conquered."

Recently, at the Vancouver Folk Festival, he received a standing ovation from the 2000-plus member audience following his ballad, "Oklahoma." That song, like much of his work, touches a kind of universal consciousness, in this case by communicating both the personal tragedy and the collective societal horror of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.
