Pianist/composer Blake has been making eclectic, impressionistic and distinguished music since the early '60s.
Integrating jazz, classical and ethnic music, he serves as chair of the Department of Contemporary Improvisation at the New England Conservatory, yet rarely performs locally.
His most recent recordings are Round About on Music & Arts with Third Stream vocalist Christine Correa and Masters From Different Worlds on Mapleshade Records, with the late hard-bop saxist Clifford Jordan. His new solo CD is entitled, Moving Van and is on Soul Note.
