Holmes is well known in the area for her numerous cabaret, opera, oratorio and soloist appearances as well as for her radio program of eleven years on WCRB radio. In addition to her popular music programs featuring the music of Porter, Berlin, Sondheim, Gershwin, Piaf, Weill, Brel and others, Holmes has performed as a soloist with the Boston Symphony, Boston Pops, Opera Company of Boston, Chorus Pro Musica, at Castle Hill, Great Woods, and throughout the East Europe and Cuba. A champion of women's music, she has given many recitals of music by women composers in America and Europe. Last December she presented a "Cabaret Francais" to great acclaim under the auspices of the New England Opera Club at the Library.
