Really Eclectic String Quartet
Classical

The Really Eclectic String Band (R.E.S.Q.), combines the beauty and intamcy of a string quartet with energy and passion of your favorite bar band. "Bartok meets The Sex Pistols" said the Boston Globe, and Sir Yehudi Menuhin hailed their music as "Truly original and marvelous." R.E.S.Q. takes a fresh look at familiar territory by mixing new and used idioms, making sure that spirit and vitality are always the first priority. The group's repertoire includes funk, gospel, and punk music in addition to R&B, jazz, and various ethnic styles. Equally comfortable in concert halls and night clubs, R.E.S.Q. has performed everywhere from the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C. to Ryles Jazz Club in Cambridge. Members are Mimi Rabson, violin; Eric Bindman, violin; Melissa Howe, viola; and James Guttmann, bass.
