All Set, from Boston, consists of Brad Slate on electronic violin, Sadeeq Holmes on keyboards and synthesizers, Chris Plachowicz on electric bass with Mark Ostrowski and Skye Snyder on drums and percussion. The psychoactive music raises audience consciousness to a trance level in which wild dervish-like dancing occurs. All Set produces sound that is energetic, deep, hypnotizing, and at times frenetic.

Jill Sharer of the L.A. Weekly reported from a concert, "All Set picked the audience up off the ground, and refused to let their feet touch the floor again for four hours. This band holds the key to something deep."

They released their first CD, "Baker`s Dozen" in January of 1998.

All Set Backgrounder

All Set is made up of musicians who are dedicated to creating passionately improvised music and bringing this creation to the stage. The ultimate purpose of All Set is to provide people with mesmerizing music that is always different and evolving, and to provide an opportunity for people to experience sound that is energetic, deep, hypnotizing, and at times frenetic. The Music they create is psychoactive and trance inducing. All Set was created as a vehicle to explore the interactive, improvisational process between musicians. Each of the members bring their own unique musical culture to All Set, creating fertile ground for their extended improvisations. The members want the sound they make to exist in a continual state of change, never the same. They strive for an ideal of sound, a combination of their musical personalities that is unique. They try to play the sound that`s "in the air," as if it were hanging fruit waiting to be picked. flavor of the sound is influenced by the environment it1s created in. An All Set outdoors show sounds very different from a nightclub performance.
