Hard Rock
Acton, Maine based Metal act THE YEAR OF OUR LORD came together in 1997, founded by guitarist Nick Heigelmann and vocalist Scott Heigelmann. The initial formation numbered Tom Mahoney on second guitar and drummer Fred Truman. Following a smattering of live appearances both Mahoney and Truman decamped. Briefly, Chris Smith enjoyed a term on bass then Matt Lacasse filled the gap for second guitarist and Glen Brasile took the drum stool. With Smith no longer in the picture THE YEAR OF OUR LORD operated on the live circuit minus bass.
Two tracks were recorded for a split 7" single on Die Records in league with Fortydaysrain. Following these recording sessions Chris Cardone joined as bassist to complete the lineup. In the summer of 1998 THE YEAR OF OUR LORD united with Fortydaysrain once again for a batch of gigs on the east coast.
A further 7" single, 'The Frozen Divide', was recorded for Dopamine Records, which witnessed Cardone switching to guitar and Lacasse over to bass. Cardone would then make his exit, the vacancy soon filled by the enrollment of Nick Kyte. Once again, touring ensued alongside Fortydaysrain in the winter of 1999.
The band's next move was to re-record all their previously laid down material with better sound quality for issue as an EP, also entitled 'The Frozen Divide', for Lifeforce Records. Further live action had THE YEAR OF OUR LORD adding keyboard textures to their sound with the addition of Nicks' brother Andy Kyte to the lineup. Lacasse was the next to leave with Andy Kyte switching roles to that of bassist just before a monthlong European Tour. Elissa Young played keyboards for a short period before both Andy Kyte and Glen Brasile opted out. Lacasse subsequently rejoined and the band located a new drummer in Colin Conway.
THE YEAR OF OUR LORD's eponymous full length album would emerge in February of 2002 with Lifeforce handling Europe, Willowtip in the States, and Howling Bull/Ritual in Japan. After it's release, Nick Kyte and Matt Lacasse made their exit.
The future will include the recording of a slew of new material. As well as the addition of new members for touring and more releases to be announced.
