Composing and arranging as early as the fifth grade, trumpeter Harrell has since toured and recorded with Horace Silver, Phil Woods, Joe Lovano and Charlie Haden, among others. Drum master Elvin Jones says simply, " . Tom Harrell is a genius." He has currently released Labyrinth, on RCA Victor, which combines post-bebop jazz with Latin, Brazilian and classical genres. His quintet includes Braden (sax), Werner (p), Larry Grenadier (b) and Tony Reedus (dm).
