Among professional musicians, critics, fans and some music industry insiders, David Maxwell has secured a reputation as one of the finest blues pianists at work today. David plays blues and jazz in many styles but is best known for his unique gift and unmatched ability to reach the heart and soul of post-war Chicago blues.

Among his more recent accomplishments:
1992-1995: Member of the James Cotton Trio. Several US tours, Italy and Norway; toured Spain and Japan with Otis Ruch; US and Canadian tours with Jimmy Rodgers; concert dates with Chuck Berry; at House of Blues, Cambridge: organized House Band; played with James Cotton, Hubert Sumlin, John Hammond, Kim Wilson, Jr. WElls, John Mooney, Charlie Musselwhite, The Chicago Blues All-Stars, and his own band "David Maxwell's Blues Wizards"

1991-1992: Member of Ronnie Earl's Broadcasters: US and European tours. Backed up Jimmy Rodgers and James "Thunderbird" Davis; European Tour with Johnny Adams.

1983-1990:: Played festivals in the Northeast with Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker and Ronnie Earl; Nightstage Concert Club: organized house band. Played with Otis Rush, Albert King, Margie Evans, Rufus Thomas, Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson, Charlie Musslwhite, Luther "Guitar Junior" Johnson, "David Maxwell's Blues Wizards," and others.
