Synopsis: Dawn Wiener is an 11-year-old, middle child of a Jewish family living in New Jersey. Life is one continuous struggle for this unattractive, slump-shouldered girl, who wears thick glasses and the tackiest clothes. The action turns on a series of misadventures, proving that although Dawn is desperate to be popular and loved, she also possesses the resilient attitude of a jungle survivor.
