Synopsis: Fanciful footwork turns the Cinderella story into an immigrant fairy tale. Ana is a wanna-be opera star who leaves her life and lover in Caracas to seek fame in Paris. There she encounters evil stepsisters and friends aplenty, including a gay psychic waiter, whom she marries to stay in France, and a soon-to-be-lesbian psychiatrist.
This incredibly sensual film is filled with songs ranging from classical and opera to salsa and new wave. About marginality and being true to one's self, most of all CELESTIAL CLOCKWORK is thoroughly, unabashedly, enjoyable lunacy.
