This selection of primitive shorts displays early cinema's fascination with travel and movement. THE EUROPEAN REST CURE plays upon American fears of trans-atlantic travel through its lighthearted treatment of tourist misadventures. A ROMANCE OF THE RAIL was sponsored by the Lackawanna Railroad to promote rail travel as pleasant, romantic and above all - clean. The innovations in cinematography are evident in this collection of views and landscapes and famous places, including the Brooklyn Bridge and the Champs Elysees.
