Synopsis: The Overcoat uses not only Gogol's most famous short story, but also "The Nevsky Prospect" as a prologue. Together they tell the painful adventures of a lowly civil service clerk, whose all important overcoat, so critical to his well-being and prestige, is stolen from him.
