After a lifetime of music, David Mallett is still singing. And with his latest Vanguard release, In The Falling Dark, he's singing better than ever. Compelling lyrics with a poetic quality and beautifully-crafted melodies are the hallmarks of singer-songwriter Dave Mallet's songs, which reflect his upbringing on a farm in small-town Maine and his many years on the road.

Dave's songs have been covered and performed by more than 100 artists, including Marty Stuart, Hal Ketchum, Pete Seeger, Peter, Paul & Mary, and even the Muppets. His music has been featured on all major television networks and cable's Arts & Entertainment and the Nashville Network. Some of his songs have become major hits for Nashville's biggest country stars, including "Summer of My Dreams" for Kathy Mattea and "Red Red Rose" for Emmylou Harris. His folk anthem "Garden Song" has been recorded by a variety of artists, including John Denver, in many languages and styles. A children's book based on the song, entitled Inch by Inch, was published in the Spring of 1995.

"Mallett, at his best, can stand toe-to-toe with Lightfoot, John Prine, or any of the best of the 70s singer/songwriters." -- Richmond Times Dispatch

"His deep clear voice has a storyteller's naturalness to it, a poet's intelligence." -- Boston Globe
