Synopsis: Maria, a celebrated actress in Nazi Germany, takes on her most challenging role when she transforms herself into a Jew in order to remain with her Jewish-lover. High-spirited and strong-willed, Maria refuses to separate her work from her private life: researching, costuming, then metamorphosing into her character, Maria unknowingly casts herself in what could be her final performance.
