The Passenger: Welcome to Germany by Thomas Brasch (1987, 120 min). Tony Curtis plays a Hollywood director who travels to Germany to direct a film about a group of Auschwitz inmates chosen to participate in a play in Berlin. The play and the film unfold to reveal the mystery of the director's past. This complex and chilling film is an exciting discover; a little-known work starring a major Hollywood star.
