Synopsis: A compassionate look at a dysfunctional American rural family struggling to survive in a small town in Idaho. After the suicide of his father, Gilbert becomes the unwilling head of his floundering family. His horizons irreversibly expand when Becky (Julliet Lewes) and her grandmother roll into town in their Airstreem trailer. As in his previous film, My Life as a Dog, Hallstrom succeeds in blending comedy and drama whule obtaining from his actors astonishing performances.
