Synopsis: "How should Cezanne be filmed? Or rather: how should Cezanne's painting be filmed? This is not only a matter of filming some of his paintings, but also Cezanne the painter. In 1956 Edgar Morin wrote these words; 'Our civilization is soul-stained to such a point that the spectator, blinded by a sort of opaque membrane, cannot see a film anymore, he only feels it.' Cezanne endeavours to scrape the stain off us, and thus he makes us see-so that we feel and see better." - Jaques Aumont
