Synopsis: Argentinean born, a doctor by training, Castro's right-hand man in 1969 Havana, Bolivian guerrilla fighter in 1967, Ernesto "Che" Guevara was the symbol of revolution and idol for all hip, radical 1960's college students. This probing, fascinating documentary is based on his personal writings from the eleven months he spent trying to lead a revolution in Bolivia, before he was ambushed and killed by peasants caught in the conflict as well as men who fought at Guevara's side, this film explores the actual man behind the myth.
"The Bolivian Diary proves there (is) a great story (Here),...a tale of blunders and entrapment, disillusionment and tragedy, a story stronger than myth, deeper than romance."- The Chicago Tribune
"The film scruptulousrly avoids any hyperbolic commentary or tear-jerking sentiment. Yet by the end, Guevara has emerged as a tragic, almost Christ-like figure utterly committed to bettering the lives of the poor." Stephen Holden, The New York Times
