Born in 1916, Robert Lockwood Jr. was coached on guitar by Robert Johnson (one of the most celebrated figures in blues history) after Johnson had fallen in love with young Lockwood's mother. A quick learner, he was a mature musician in his own right by the time of his step-father's untimely death, less than a decade later. He has been developing, refineing and adapting his art ever since.
