Andrew Davis' stellar performances at the Glyndebourne Festival and throughout Europe earned him the appointment as chief conductor of London's BBC in 1989. Jean-Yves Thibaudet, one of the great pianistic talents of the day, joins the Orchestra as soloist in Beethoven's sublime Second Concerto.Program: Rossini; Overture to "L'Italiana in Algeri"/Beethoven, Piano Concerto No. 2 in B flat, Op. 19/Elgar, Symphony No. 2 in E flat, Op. 63.
