Synopsis
Set in the American wilderness during the middle of the 18th century, Michael Mann's sweeping update of James Fenimore Cooper's novel stars Daniel Day-Lewis as Hawkeye, the white frontiersman raised within the Mohican tribe by his adopted father Chingachook (Russell Means). Hawkeye keeps his distance from civilization until he falls for Cora (Madeleine Stowe), the daughter of a British officer he rescues from an ambush.
