Synopsis
Hitchcock followed Psycho with his vision of a whole community - or the world at large - under attack by a force that connot be resisted: masses of deadly birds appearing intermittently out of nowhere, suggesting a rebellion of nature or the judgement of God upon a human race grown shallow and unthinking. The film is a brilliant use of silhouette, superimpositions and electronic sound, including wonderfully chilly performances from Hedren, Taylor, and Trandy, and a subtly effective mix of sharp editing with more languorous passages depicting everyday life.
