Synopsis
A remarkable film inspired by the true story of Pu Yi, the last emperor of China, who was crowned at age 3 and lived a cloistered life in the Forbidden City until the revolution. He then is forced, without preparation, to confront the outside world. Shot on location, this spectacular and beautifully choreographed film garnered 9 Academy Awards in 1988.
