After three years in London, film director Toichi Kakata returns to his home town, Osaka and focuses his camera on his family - revealing their Korean and Japanease loyalties, the two families which his father maintains, a mother worried about the future, and a brother torn between a family business and a new cult religion. All the while Nakata ponders his own problem: whether to return to Japan and fulfill the role of the eldest son or whether to go on and live his own life.
