Synopsis
Flaherty portrays the lives of the remote fishing folk who live on the island of Aran, off the westedn coast of Ireland. Shark hunting and seaweed gathering are among the daily activities of these people. Flaherty's impressive camera captures the energy and rage of the ocean as never seen before. Like Nanook of the North our definitions of documentary remained challenged.
