Synopsis
Dedicated by Fassbinder to a lover who committed suicide, the folm follows a transexual as he contemplates his life. A relentlessly pessimistic film, the use of harsh color, asymmetrical sets, shifting narrative techniques and a discordant soundtrack evoke the squalor of his situation. "This film will describe the encounters of someone during the last five days of his life and attempt to discover, through these encounters, if his decision to end his life on this fifth and last day is inadmissible, at lease understandable, or perhaps even acceptable."
