Using new material, much of it previously unknown, this documentary examines the activities of a small group of individuals who comprised the anti-Nazi resistance within Germany from 1933 to 1944. Focusing on the moral and political evolution of the movement's principal architects, this is the story of individual human beings facing choices of conscience and will. As their story emerges, it highlights the tension between an individual's responsibility to a personal code of ethics and to a national political system.
