James Coburn reprised the role of suave secret agent Derek Flint in this 1967 Our Man Flint sequel, an outlandish but entertaining spoof with plenty of action and even more feminine pulchritude than the original. This time Flint is pitted against a group of female villains, based in the Virgin Islands, who substitute members of their band for astronauts aboard an American space station and then arm them with nuclear missiles in a bid for world domination. Yes, that's right, the fate of the world once again rests in Flint's deadly (but capable) hands. Director Gordon Douglas (Tony Rome), charged with replicating the first film's charm, generally succeeds -- although the sequel's script isn't quite as pithy as the '66 original. Coburn again infuses Flint with ersatz solemnity, and distaff cast members Jean Hale and Yvonne Craig are appropriately seductive. Not exactly the box-office sensation its predecessor was, In like Flint pleased fans in '67 and still delivers lots of breezy Bondian fun. Ed Hulse
