Obsessive Becoming:
A free-form surreal autobiography concerned with childhood and adult rituals and the longing for meaning and connection during the often wildly absurd events of early life. Reeves draws upon a wealth of images accumulated since the 1940's by his family, primarily as snapshots and 16mm film tranfered to video. The work is instilled with insight and compassion and driven by a desire for healing emotional scars from the past.

Sadie Benning is a lesbian filmmaker who has been creating video since she was fifteen years old using a Pixel-vision Fisher-Price toy camera. This lively compilation of five pieces from 1989 - 1990 reveals the honesty, humor, and real desperation of a personality just coming to self-awareness. Benning's floating, close-up camera functions as a witness to her intimate diaristic revelation and as an accomplice in defining her evocative experimental form.
