Synopsis
A captivating cross-country adventure brought to life by two young women - veterens of the "Hollywood scene" - who, videocameras and a laptop computer in hand, took to the road to explore a new definition of the American dream. With the names and phone numbers of over 200 people that they wished to interview, Gabel and Hahn embarked on a journey that would take them from historic New Orleans to the rainforests of Washington, from the skyscraper-lined avenues of New York City to the dusty roads of the Great Plains. Spending an afternoon at the White House with George Stephanopoulos, driving recklessly through the back roads of Aspen with Hunter S. Thompson, and hanging out with Michael Stipe in a New York City hotel room are just some of the highlights in this rich tapestry of ideas and cultures.
"Am uplifting ode to all that's still great, or at least moderately salvageable, about the USA, this talking-head road trip - taken by two neophyte pic-makers with a really solid Rolodex - os a handy antidote to prevailing Generation Why cynicism." - Variety
