Younger fans of the 1973 animated film Charlotte's Web will be delighted to return to Zuckerman's farm, where Wilbur the pig remains true to the memory of his late spider friend, Charlotte. His new friend is Cardigan, a misfit black sheep who is shunned by other members of the flock. When Cardigan is sold, fretful Wilbur works up the courage to mount a rescue, aided by Charlotte's three mischievous daughters and a human friend, Fern (voiced by Debi Derryberry, the voice of Jimmy Neutron). This made-for-video sequel suggests a budding video franchise and spins its web to attract a contemporary audience with anachronistic dialogue ("What a rush") and extreme action (high-fiving, bungee-jumping arachnoids). A predatory fox supplies some very mild peril, but happily, no one dies at the end this time. Donald Liebenson
