Synopsis Serendipitously rich and quirky, the film starts out as a historical documentary and ends up as a hilarious portrait of the filmaker's quest for romance. After a break-up with his girlfriend sidetracked his plans to make a documentary about General Sherman's infamous march through the South, Ross McElwee turned the camera on himself and his search for new love. The film is the result of extravagant Southern women in a timely study of human relationships in an era of nuclear nervousness.
