Synopsis: Vigo's anarchic, disorienting vision of life in a French boarding school was banned untill 1945 (eleven years after Vigo's death). It has a fresh, child's eye view of authority, from which adults are seen as hypocritical, oppressive, and corrupt. Its influence on Truffaut and Godard is noticeable, and it was the direct inspiration behind Lindsey Anderson's IF...(1968)
