Synopsis
The third Henry James adaptation of the year concerns a forbidden romance in turn-of-the-century England. Helena
Bonham Carter discovers true love in middle-class Linus Roache. But to keep family money for her handicapped father, she denies passion for such an improper suitor. Instead, she urges him to marry an American heiress who suffers from a fatal disease.
