Synopsis
A provocative and deeply personal film biography of the late gay writer and activist Paul Monette, whose landmark autobiography Becoming a Man: A Life Story won the prestigious "National Book Award" in 1992. Shot over three years, filmmaker Monte Bramer explores Paul's life and work from his seemingly idyllic new England boyhood to his closeted adolescence and his development into a successful writer, commited lover and activist to his death from AIDS in February 1995.
